A former Swiss taxi driver moves into a guesthouse in Bali and, in the company of three other Swiss retirees, sleepwalks towards death. When offered an investment tip he grabs the chance to improve his fortunes but a stock market "correction" turns that hope to ashes. Rather than slowly decay, he decides to go out in a blaze of glory and leap into a volcano. But that plan too goes awry when one of his compatriots reveals he is dying of cancer and offers a final lifeline - an identity swap. But his friend must die and he is left facing the unexpected consequences of tempting fate on the Island of Gods.
